The Hornstrandir Nature Reserve is widely reported to be Europe’s last wilderness, which is home to a protected population of Arctic Foxes. Here, juvenile Arctic Foxes play freely, with no fear of predation, for the Arctic Fox is the largest terrestrial land mammal in Iceland. This particular is beginning to change colour, becoming white at the end of the summer, in preparation for the camouflage that the snow provides.
